Button quail mom with her very first chick. She is being a wonderful mother. Another hen tried to grab the chick and she went and got the baby back. These two baby quails are from a newly imported European line with a recessive "Tuxedo" pattern. These two babies do not show the pattern but theoretically may carry it hidden. 2 week old mottled cochin bantam chicks. 1 blue mottle, 1 black mottle. Named "Fluffy, Diagonal, black beak and sticky" by my daughter :)Cochin bantam frizzle "bantam". She is by Francine (a black cochin frizzle) x Rocky (a barred rock frizzle).Serama youngster named "Library" by my daughter. Originally called "the quiet one", my daughter thought Library was more appropriate for a "quiet" chick :)Serama youngster "Madagascar". Known as "the wild child" my daughter, again, decided a more appropriate name and was named after one of her favorite movies.Same clutch/hatching as the previous two chicks- this tiny one is "sickchick" because he needed help on day two - to find the feed and water as he was weak. He's doing great now :)
